Alcoa expects aluminum demand to keep growing in 2019, with the supply gap widening

According to foreign media on January 16, Alcoa said in its fourth-quarter financial report that the aluminum supply gap will be as high as 2.1 million tons.The supply gap for 2018 is 1.7 million tons.


The company expects aluminum consumption to grow 3 to 4 percent this year and 4 percent in 2018.


Alcoa also said it expects the alumina market to shift from oversupply to undersupply this year.
